On Friday 9 June we welcome Scottish musician and Heavenly Recordings artist John Bryden aka Eyes of Others to Wendover for another night of musical magic here in the village.
We loved our first ever Real Magic Music event back in April and so we’re over the moon to be back with Real Magic Music 2, and back once again at our home from home at The Legion.
To try and list all Eyes of Others’ musical touchpoints would be a thankless task but nestled playfully – and seductively – in his sonic palette are an abundance of carefree electronics, hypnotic dub, wry folk rock, twitchy psychedelia and buoyant acid techno. In other words, pure musical freedom. If it wasn’t for the fact that Eyes of Others began as a side hustle, you’d be praising the ambition of such a mesmerising pop art collage. But then maybe such creativity and experimentation is the result of approaching the music in a pressure-free environment. This is the sound of an imaginative artist working at the peak of his powers.
The response to the first event was amazing, selling out a couple of weeks before, so please get your tickets early if you can.
The event will start at 7pm, Real Magic DJs from the start, with live support on around 8pm and Eyes of Others hitting the stage around 930pm ish. Arrive early, there’s a good (cheap) bar, great music will be played, a mini Real Magic music and poetry bookshop, and lots of lovely people hanging out. It was really cool last time that everyone got down so early and supported the whole event.
