On Wednesday 1 Nov we gathered together against the wind and torrential rain to discuss Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. It was a fantastic evening of wine and lengthy discussion about the book and Carl and I loved it.
A big thank you to our customers for getting behind our first book of the month and for sharing their thoughts so openly and insightfully.
For our next group, I’ve chosen Shrines of Gaiety by Kate Atkinson. Atkinson has a track record for bestselling, literary page turners, such as Life After Life and Behind the Scenes at the Museum and this novel has been getting great reviews. Described as a dazzling tale of Soho in the 1920s, it’s a whirlwind of corruption and seduction, starring a host of starlets, foreign dignitaries and gangsters. Yes please, all bases covered, sign me up right now.
We have a few copies available already in the shop and will be getting more in. Drop us a line if you’d like one to be held. We’ll be meeting on Wednesday 7 December at 7pm. It’s completely free, open to anyone, and comes with wine. Hope to see you then.
